I am a 61 year old woman who was raised by frugal, depression-era parents. At a young age I made the decision to work hard so that I could have the luxuries that I craved. The problem was that I began spending more than I made as a young wife and mother. My husband did the same thing. By the time we were divorced 27 years later, our spending was a nightmare. I think that if we had read this book, it may have saved us. I am now in a second marriage of ten years and we work very hard to live in a beautiful home. We still scramble to pay bills. On a recent trip I read your book aloud to my husband and we both felt that this book had changed our lives. We are in the process of doing each step. We are making extra payments on our cars, have cut out extra expenses and feel that we have a new goal in our life. When the market changes, we will downsize to a more affordable home and will be mortgage free at that time. We are telling our children to read the book so that they will be debt free much sooner than we have been. Thank you so much!
